I had a great time at the Old British House. The owners and Raj were very kind and helpful and made me feel at home. The room was great, comfortable and clean. The garden was beautiful and the breakfast, with Paranthas, lassi and coffee, delicious. I would not hesitate a second to come back, relax and be transported to the old good times.

Cute little place, well protected from street noise. Centrally located, easy to find. Rooms are charming, rather small and cosy.

Nice peaceful getaway from an otherwise chaotic city. Cool feeling with thick walls and huge garden area. Common kitchen and staff made it feel homey.

I had a wonderful two days there. I felt at home from the first moment. I had some excellent home made tea, breakfast and delicious dinner. I loved working and spending time outside, surrounded by all the plants and trees, and absolutely loved spending time with hosts. I had not slept as well for months. The mix between my cool room at night and the silence, was wonderful. Harshit and Sima helped me organize a cab from the airport, another one to Rishikesh and they did everything they could to make me feel at ease and relaxed during my stay. I warmly recommend this wonderful gem. I hope to come again, with my family. Thank you.

Had a lovely time at OBH! Would recommend this property to anyone looking out for a peaceful place to implement the WFH model, or anyone planning a day trip to the surrounding hill stations (Mussoorie, Landour). OBH is a perfect place to rejuvenate while still connected to the city. Harshit, his family and also the staff members are very warm as they constantly checked up on anything that we needed during our stay.

Absolutely wonderful place. We only stayed for a night, but it was a beautiful property that we would certainly have loved to spend more time on!

A wonderful place to stay in Dehradun! Located on Rajpur road close to great restaurants and near by the junction to Mussoorie. Harshit and his family are very accommodating and they make sure that you are properly taken care of. If you are looking for a place, consider staying here. Every moment was great.

Old British House is a very pleasant house. With its quiet garden, among birds and monkeys. The house is very well located because it is away from the noise of the city of Dehradun and a stone's throw from the village of Rajpur for shopping. There are buses to get around, but I recommend renting a scooter. Harshit is a host who will always answer all your questions and requests with a smile. His wife is very kind and is an excellent cook. I will have very fond memories of Sima, Harshit's mother, with whom I spent time and with whom I had great pleasure talking and laughing. The private rooms are small but very clean. The shared kitchen is very convenient if you want to make your own meals.

Old British House provides pleasant respite from the business of Uttarakhand's capital city. The gardens and courtyard arrangement make for a relaxing time with fellow airbnb'ers. Harshit's mother served up good food and was the consummate host. Definitely a place I'd like to return to.

I did choose British old cottage style and my expectations with the room wide open to the garden were there. Monkeys too are part of the charming place. The family who runs this cottage welcomes you greatly and gives you all details to make you feel comfortable at home and to connect you to surrounding area.

An old house with a lot of charm and a beautiful garden in a wooded area away from the city but well served by local transport. Lovely people and a sweet dog. A kitchen equipped to prepare food but the mistress of the house also offers good meals. I recommend this house.

You can't go wrong with a stay here, perfectly positioned on the edge of Dehradun and the beautiful mountains beyond. Harshit's local knowledge is unsurpassable as is the hospitality you will receive from him and his family.

Excellent Place

Harshit's place has a lot of character being an old british house and the garden is a great place to relax and enjoy some peace away from the hussle and bussle of the road and city. The room was clean, simple and had everything i needed and was very economical too. I enjoyed my stay very much and very grateful to Gyan ji and Sima ji - Harshit's mum and dad, who were very helpful with local advice and cooked meals for me and a friend when i asked which were made from veggies freshly picked from the garden.

A wonderful abode outside the hustle of the main road. Harshit has been very accommodating of my needs. It's been a wonderful experience. Certainly would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Harshit picked us up from the train station right on time, and we signed on for his guided tour of Dehradun. It was worth it, as we got to explore some spots off the beaten path, and learn a bunch about the area. The stay was lovely - his place is a short walk off Rajpur Rd, so you have access to public transit but are away from the noise of traffic. Up the hill from him are several great spots to eat and get coffee. Food provided was delicious, so that's a good option as well.

Harshit is a great host. Very kind giving and friendly. Gets to know you right away. He's a people person and his mother cooks fab Indian food. Very wonderful family home stay.

If you live pets and are looking for a really warm welcome, do stay at this place! Harshit and his family are great and they go out of their way to make sure you're stay is absolutely wonderful. I am definitely visiting again. 5 stars on everything. Thoroughly recommend!

The home cooking is superb, Harshit took us to some wonderful places. This venue would be ideal for the young & fit who want to go trecking.

Amazing Host!! Harshit is really making is best for you to make you stay beautiful, he will give you very good advices, show you the best places around depending on your personal need, and his mum and assistants will cook very well the food from their garden! There is very good trekking around, is is located in very quiet neighborhood. Tibetans cultures and people are quiet present in the area. Sakya monastery is very close by.

Very nice home to stay! I have stayed here 3 night and loved it. It is a big far from town, but its so nice that the only noise is the monkeys jumping on the roof hahaha! I enjoyed very much the tour around the city and the company. Its not easy to find open minded hosts that also would speak a good english. I feel like at home and will come back for a month :)

Two things that caught my attention when i arrived at Harshit's - his super awesome beard and the architecture of his old British-style home just as mentioned in the description. The entire space was cozy, clean and conveniently located away from all the noise. Harshit and his family (including Mustang the boxer) went over and beyond making me feel at home! Harshit's mom cooked up some incredible indian meals. I would highly recommend this 'experience' to one and all, especially if you have a mind open enough to soak in the positive vibes.

The place is ideal for people looking to trek Mussoorie and nearby mountains. It's quite and provides the private space you need. Harshit was a great help in figuring out stuff about local markets and things to do.

Harshit's was quaint and very relaxing. It was for us long awaited refuge. They have a very smart and friendly dog and cute rabbits. If you want to relax, you can lie in a hammock in a spacious garden under big trees. Highly recommended!

Harshit is gentle friend with nice humor sense. And the place was clean. Hot water, food, landscape makes me comfortable and cool.

Harshit has a beautiful home away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy part of Dehradun. I was worried about making my way from the railway station but to my pleasant surprise, Harshit agreed to pick me up halfway. The short bike ride that followed was through a lovely trail that runs through fields and forests outside the city. If you're looking for offbeat things to do, then Harshit is the Dehradun boy to head to! The only regret I have is that I stayed for only one night.

Although Harshit was away when I visited, his mom and dad both were very warm and welcoming. The meals were very good and were prepared with some ingredients fresh from the garden. The room itself is very basic... 2 single beds, some shelves, and that's about it. Rajpur is a neat old town with a couple nice places to eat, shop, etc.

The place is in a wonderful location just near to all the facilities but away from the hassles of the city. The greenery and the old house atmosphere are just incredible, and Harshit, his wife, the cook, are always available and kind and conversation with them is a real bonus! We feel at home and at the same time we are blessed to meet them.

It's a nice, cheap guesthouse. Harshit is very friendly and very attentive. The food is very good. An address to recommend.

Harshit's home is in a quiet secluded place some distance away from the bustle of Dehradun. Amenities are basic but Harshit and his family are very welcoming, helpful and ready with good advice to make your visit a pleasant one.

Great value for money! We loved the feeling of sleeping outdoors that the place gave, and having rabbits jumping around on the green lawn outside our room. Food was nice and fresh. Harshit and his wife picked us up from the airport when we arrived and dropped us to the train station when we left. Harshit even took us on a drive up to Mussoorie and Landor and showed us his favorite places which were great.

An amazing n a quite place to spend some quality time with friends. Can also b opted if u plan a solo trip.

Overall, our stay was outstanding. Harshit and Seema, and Rakesh the kind helper, went out of their way to ensure our comfortable stay. The house/property is great and the rooms are clean and well maintained. The house is tucked away from the main road. They have great food there, but order plenty early because it can take a very long time to cook from scratch. This is more than a room, it's really a full service facility, and I would definitely recommend it to others.
